We invented dynamic
QR codes in 2009.
Now we're making them talk.
From a side experiment in augmented reality to the invisible infrastructure behind millions of scans. And now, the first QR code that holds a real conversation.
THE ORIGIN
A side experiment that changed how the world scans.
His solution was elegant. Separate the code from its destination. The printed marker stays the same. What it launches can change anytime.
He called Mauro Casula, a university friend from Politecnico di Milano whose technical instincts he trusted. Within weeks they had a working prototype. They coined the term dynamic QR code and launched uQR.me, the world’s first platform for creating and managing editable QR codes.
They never patented it. They gave it to the world.
Once I figured it out, I realized this could be used for way more than just AR.
— Diego Gopen · CEO and Co-founder, QRCodeKIT
THE TEAM
Two founders became three. No investors. Just belief.
What brought them together was not funding or hype. It was the conviction that a good idea, built patiently, could outlast any well-funded competitor.
And it did. While venture-backed platforms raised millions and shut down within two years, QRCodeKIT kept building. When those platforms disappeared, their users found a home here and stayed.
We've had so many users come to us saying: the platform I was using disappeared, can you help? And we always say the same thing: Welcome home.
— Diego Gopen · CEO and Co-founder, QRCodeKIT
THE JOURNEY
More than fifteen years. One through line.
WHAT IS NEXT
From editable to conversational. The next chapter starts now.
For the first time, a QR code can understand questions, respond in any language, guide users toward decisions, and learn from every interaction. All without reprinting a single code.
I didn't want to be in the spotlight. But maybe I should have left more breadcrumbs on the internet.

THE FOUNDING TEAM
Three friends.
One idea that changed everything.
CEO AND CO-FOUNDER
Diego Gopen
The inventor of the dynamic QR code. In 2009, Diego was experimenting with browser-native AR when the idea struck: a code whose destination could change without reprinting. He has been building on that idea for 15 years.
CTO AND CO-FOUNDER
Mauro Casula
The first call Diego made. A fellow Politecnico di Milano graduate whose technical instincts helped turn a weekend experiment into a global platform. Mauro has been building the infrastructure behind QRCodeKIT from day one.
CMO
Roberto Maggio
The voice that gave the project its place in the world. Roberto joined in the earliest days to shape the communication strategy and help people understand why a QR code should be dynamic. He has been telling that story ever since.
