Flowcode alternatives in 2026: six QR platforms compared on stated criteria

Prices and limits were read on each vendor's public pricing page on 8 October 2026, and the plan grids are shown below as captured that day. Where a vendor's site states two different figures, both are given. Re-verified quarterly. How we compare QR platforms explains the method.

Why people look for a Flowcode alternative

Flowcode is a serious platform for marketing teams, and the head-to-head comparison says so. The searches that bring people here come from four places.

  • The analytics cap. Since 29 February 2024, including for existing accounts, Flowcode's dashboards stop counting new scans once the account reaches 500 on Free, 6,000 on Pro Plus or 10,000 on Growth, totalled across every code. The codes keep scanning; the reporting stops. Only Enterprise is uncapped.
  • The price jump. Pro Plus is $25 a month billed yearly, or $60 monthly. The next plan, Growth, is $250 a month billed annually, $3,000 a year, and its card reads "Annual only" until the billing toggle is switched. Custom domains, the API and PDF reports start there.
  • Printed codes on cancellation. Flowcode's help centre says codes keep scanning after a downgrade. Its terms of use say that on cancellation, codes above the free allowance "will be archived and re-directed to flowcode.com or another location of our choosing", with no analytics for archived codes. On Trustpilot, reviewers from 2024 and 2025 describe codes deactivated, expired or deleted.
  • No refunds. Under its terms, subscription payments are non-refundable. Flowcode's Trustpilot score is 3.5 from 38 reviews, and complaints about reaching support recur from 2023 to 2025.

If none of those applies to you, and you value what Flowcode does well, you may be in the right place already.

What Flowcode does well

A fair comparison starts with the reasons to stay. Unlimited scans on every plan, including free. SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA, with a trust portal where reports and a data processing agreement can be requested. Routing by day, device and location from the $25 plan. GS1-compliant codes since May 2026. An AI design generator that turns one sentence into a code design and a destination. And Flowcode 2, its enterprise product, adds audiences, HubSpot list sync, a Shopify revenue pixel and SmartFlow, which sends visitors to the best-performing landing page while a test runs.

The criteria

  1. Analytics: is reporting capped by scans or by time?
  2. Published prices, from the entry plan to the middle tier.
  3. Monthly billing.
  4. Custom domain: on which plan, at what price, and who owns it.
  5. What happens to printed codes when a plan lapses.
  6. Refunds.
  7. Compliance stated publicly, and where data is hosted.
  8. AI beyond design assistance.

The six alternatives

1. QRCodeKIT: best overall alternative

QRCodeKIT invented the dynamic QR code in 2009 and has resolved more than 1.2 billion scans since, on infrastructure stress-tested at the Oscars, the Super Bowl and MotoGP, for Fortune 100 companies and more than a million brands. Two dynamic codes are free for life, with 100 scans per code per month that renew and never expire. Starter is $20 a month billed yearly for 100 codes, 10,000 scans per code a month and bulk creation from CSV. Pro is $50 a month billed yearly, or $65 monthly, for 1,000 codes, unlimited scans, ten seats and a custom domain included. Enterprise is $150 a month, billed yearly or monthly, for 5,000 codes, 50 seats, several domains, SSO through Okta or ADFS, and the API. A 7-day money-back policy applies. Full detail on the pricing page.

What it shares with Flowcode: landing pages, forms, file and payment destinations, GS1 Digital Link codes, bulk creation, retargeting as an add-on on higher plans, SSO on the top plan, AI-assisted code design, and GDPR compliance.

What Flowcode does not have: analytics history not capped by plan, with unique and total visits by city, country, device and time, exported as PDF and XLS; Cleo, an AI agent trained on all your own content that answers anyone who scans any code, in more than 40 languages; invisible QR codes that fade into artwork and still scan; Google Reviews codes where the customer taps a star, answers three questions and AI drafts the review; an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf on every plan including free; a custom domain at $50; a money-back policy; and EU hosting on AWS EU regions, on a platform that has been certified to ISO 9001, 27001 and 14001.

Weak points against Flowcode: scans are metered on Free and Starter, where Flowcode meters none; no SOC 2 or HIPAA attestation; and no CRM, CDP or audience suite of Flowcode 2's kind.

2. Uniqode: best for regulated enterprise buyers

Uniqode, formerly Beaconstac, bills annually on its pricing page; a September 2026 help article says monthly billing may be arranged through support. Essential is $9 a month for 15 codes and 60 days of analytics. Core is $49 for 250 codes, 90 days of analytics, the API, GPS and integrations. Plus is $99 for 500 codes, 180 days of analytics and three seats, with a custom domain as an add-on: $500 a year in its plan table, $2,000 per domain in the FAQ on the same page. Business+ is $399 for 2,000 codes, lifetime analytics, five seats, a custom domain, SSO and retargeting. Each plan also caps scans a year: 50,000, 1 million, 2 million and 8 million. The free tier is static codes only; dynamic codes made in the 14-day trial go inactive when it ends. Uniqode offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. The Uniqode alternatives piece covers it in depth.

What it shares with Flowcode: SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA with a business associate agreement from its trust centre, GDPR, routing by location, language, device or time, GS1 codes, and US hosting, on AWS. Where it differs: the API from $49 rather than $250, Una, an AI assistant in the dashboard, an assistant that answers people who scan a PDF or menu from that document, and an MCP connector that lets Claude read scan analytics from Plus. It has also been certified to ISO 27001:2022. When a plan lapses, codes go inactive; its help centre says renewal restores them with their original short URLs, while a September 2026 article says codes cannot be reactivated after cancelling. A New York company.

Bitly is a link platform that renders a QR code for each short link. Free gives two codes and five links a month with unlimited scans; the destination cannot be changed, there are no analytics, and free links and codes open an ad page before the destination. Core is $10 a month, annual only, for five codes a month and 30 days of data. Growth is $29 billed yearly, or $35 monthly, for ten codes a month, four months of data and a complimentary custom domain that Bitly registers and owns. Premium is $199 billed yearly, or $300 monthly, for 200 codes a month, a year of data and city and device data. The QRCodeKIT vs Bitly head-to-head covers it in depth.

What it shares with Flowcode: SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR and CCPA, US data centres, unlimited scans, routing by country and platform from Growth, monthly billing on the middle plans. Where it differs: codes and destination changes as monthly quotas rather than a stock, data history set by plan rather than by scan count, the API from the free plan, more than 60 integrations, Bitly Assist on paid plans, and an MCP server its pricing table lists on every plan (a help article updated in October 2026 says some paid plans). When a plan lapses, codes on bit.ly keep scanning; codes on the complimentary domain stop when Bitly stops renewing it. Fees are non-refundable. A New York company.

4. QR TIGER: best low-cost self-serve

Three free dynamic codes with 500 scans each; a code stops when its 500 scans are used, and free codes show a QR TIGER logo popup and ads on scan. Regular is $7 a month billed monthly, or $65 a year, for 12 codes with unlimited scans, 500 API requests a month and a Canva integration. Advanced is $16 a month, billed yearly, for 200 codes with bulk creation, Google Analytics, Zapier and HubSpot, and password protection. Premium is $37 billed yearly for 600 codes, a custom domain and 10,000 API requests. Professional is $89 billed yearly for 1,200 codes, two users, two domains, Sena, a chat that answers questions about scan data, and an MCP server. The QR TIGER alternatives piece covers it in depth.

What it shares with Flowcode: unlimited scans on paid plans, GS1 codes, multi-URL routing, a Canva integration, retargeting from Advanced. Where it differs: published prices on every self-serve plan, a custom domain at $37, the API from $7, and certification: QR TIGER has been certified to ISO 27001:2022 and states GDPR and CCPA readiness on its enterprise page. One user until Professional. When a plan lapses, codes stop; QR TIGER keeps the data for up to a year so a late renewal restores them. Hosted on AWS in several countries, region not named. A Singapore company founded in 2018.

5. Scanova: best at very small volume

No free dynamic codes: a 14-day trial with no card, after which its codes stop. Basic is $5 a month, billed yearly only, for three codes with unlimited scans and 30 days of analytics. Lite is $9 billed yearly or $15 monthly for ten codes, analytics with no time limit, all 26 categories, AI Studio, its AI landing-page generator, conditional redirection, Google Analytics, webhooks, password protection and scheduled expiry. Standard is $35, or $50 monthly, for 50 codes, Zapier, ad-platform integrations and white-labelled pages. Pro is $75, or $100 monthly, for 500 codes, five users, GPS, one custom domain and an MCP server, with extra users at $60 and extra domains at $120 a year. The API and SSO are Enterprise. The QRCodeKIT vs Scanova head-to-head covers it in depth.

What it shares with Flowcode: SOC 2 stated, unlimited scans, conditional redirection, ad-platform integrations, white-labelled pages, AI-generated code designs. Where it differs: analytics with no time limit from $9, a custom domain at $75, and certification: Scanova has been certified to ISO 27001:2022. When a plan ends, codes are deactivated, kept in the account and restored on subscription. Refunds are limited to an unintended auto-renewal or an unresolved technical issue. Hosted on AWS in Oregon, United States. Operated by Trycon Technologies from India, founded in 2013.

6. Hovercode: best free tier

Three dynamic codes free for life with unlimited scans, no ads, a form builder, GS1 Digital Link codes and three months of analytics. Pro is $12 a month for 100 codes in total, one custom domain and twelve months of analytics. Business is $39 for 600 new codes a month, ten domains, the API, bulk creation, CSV export, ten users, GPS and unlimited analytics history. Business Plus is $99 for 2,000 codes a month, 50 domains, 25 users and webhooks. Every plan bills monthly or yearly, with two months free on yearly. The QRCodeKIT vs Hovercode head-to-head covers it in depth.

What it shares with Flowcode: unlimited scans on every plan including free, an AI design generator, a Canva app. Where it differs: a custom domain from $12, the API from $39, analytics history set by plan rather than by scan count, and an MCP server on every plan. Hosted on DigitalOcean in Frankfurt with GDPR stated and a data processing agreement on request, and no certification of its own. When a plan lapses, the first three codes stay live, the rest are paused and restored on resubscribing, and codes on a custom domain stop. Refunds within 24 hours of purchase. A UK company that dates itself to 2022, with the shortest track record on the list. Visitors from Europe see prices in euros.

If compliance is why you bought Flowcode

Be precise about which document you need. Uniqode states SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA, as Flowcode does, with a business associate agreement from its trust centre, and has also been certified to ISO 27001. Bitly states SOC 2 Type 2 and Scanova SOC 2, both without HIPAA. QR TIGER and QRCodeKIT have been certified to ISO 27001 without SOC 2, and QRCodeKIT also to ISO 9001 and 14001. Hovercode states GDPR and offers a data processing agreement, without a certification of its own. Only Uniqode on this list states HIPAA.

Hosting is a separate question from compliance. Flowcode does not say where scan data is hosted. Uniqode, Bitly and Scanova name the United States. QRCodeKIT names AWS EU regions and Hovercode Germany. QR TIGER does not name a region. For a buyer with a data-residency requirement, that is the line to get in writing before anything else.

What happens to your printed codes

This is the question that matters most once codes are on packaging, signage or print, and the answers differ more than the prices do.

  • Flowcode: its help centre says codes keep scanning after cancellation, with the two most recent still editable; its terms say codes above the free allowance are archived and redirected to flowcode.com or another location of its choosing, with no analytics for archived codes.
  • QRCodeKIT: the two free codes keep working indefinitely. Codes on a lapsed paid plan are deactivated and come back when the plan is renewed; the account and data stay.
  • Uniqode: codes go inactive when a plan ends; its help centre gives two answers on whether they come back after cancelling.
  • Bitly: codes keep scanning on bit.ly; codes on the complimentary domain stop when Bitly stops renewing it.
  • QR TIGER: codes stop; data kept for up to a year for a late renewal.
  • Scanova: codes stop; kept in the account and restored on subscription.
  • Hovercode: the first three codes stay live; others pause and return on resubscribing. Codes on a custom domain stop.

Flowcode's help-centre answer is a genuine strength: a code that outlives the subscription. Among the alternatives, only QRCodeKIT and Hovercode keep free codes working in five years without paying: two codes with a renewing monthly allowance on QRCodeKIT, three with unlimited scans on Hovercode.

How to move without reprinting

A Flowcode printed on Flowcode's own domain resolves through Flowcode only; if you leave, it can be redirected only by Flowcode. A code printed on a custom redirect domain you own, connected on Growth through a CNAME record, can be pointed at any platform by changing that record. A white-labelled flowcode.com subdomain is not yours: Flowcode's terms let it terminate the subdomain or let a third party use it. The same logic applies at every vendor on this list, with one trap: Bitly's complimentary domain is registered to Bitly and cannot be transferred. Export your scan data before you cancel, since archived codes have no analytics.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Flowcode alternative?

For most teams, QRCodeKIT: analytics history not capped by plan, 1,000 codes with ten seats and a custom domain at $50 a month, monthly billing on Pro, a 7-day money-back policy, EU hosting, and three things no other platform here offers: Cleo, an AI agent trained on all your content that answers whoever scans, invisible QR codes, and Google Reviews codes with AI-drafted reviews. Uniqode for SOC 2 and HIPAA, Bitly for link-first teams, Hovercode for the most generous free tier, QR TIGER and Scanova for small volumes.

Which Flowcode alternative does not cap analytics?

QRCodeKIT does not cap analytics history by plan; scans are metered on its Free and Starter plans and unlimited from Pro. Scanova keeps analytics with no time limit from Lite and Hovercode from Business, both with unlimited scans. Uniqode caps both history and scans a year by plan, and Bitly keeps data for 30 days to a year depending on the plan. Flowcode stops counting at 500, 6,000 or 10,000 scans per account below Enterprise.

Does any Flowcode alternative offer HIPAA?

Uniqode states HIPAA alongside SOC 2 Type 2 and offers a business associate agreement from its trust centre. Confirm the plan it requires in writing. No other platform on this list states HIPAA.

Is there a Flowcode alternative with published prices above $25?

Yes, all six. QRCodeKIT's Pro is $50 a month billed yearly, or $65 monthly, for 1,000 codes and a custom domain; Uniqode's Core $49 and Plus $99; Bitly's Growth $29 and Premium $199; QR TIGER's plans from $7 to $89; Scanova's from $5 to $75; Hovercode's from $12 to $99. Flowcode's Growth is $250 a month billed annually, shown on its card only when the billing toggle is switched.

Does any alternative have AI or an MCP connector?

Several. QRCodeKIT and Hovercode include MCP servers on every plan, including free; Bitly's pricing table lists one on every plan, QR TIGER includes one from Professional, Scanova from Pro, and Uniqode has a read-only analytics connector for Claude from Plus. Uniqode's scan-side assistant answers questions about a single PDF or menu. Only QRCodeKIT has Cleo, an AI agent trained on all your content that answers the person who scanned any code, in more than 40 languages. Flowcode publishes no MCP server.

Can I move my Flowcodes?

Codes printed on Flowcode's domain or on a white-labelled flowcode.com subdomain cannot be moved. Codes on a custom redirect domain you own, connected on Growth, can be repointed to any platform through DNS. Export your scan data before you cancel.
