QR TIGER alternatives in 2026: six QR platforms compared on stated criteria

Prices and limits were read on each vendor's public pricing page on 22 September 2026, and the plan grids are shown below as captured that day. Where a vendor's site states two different figures, both are given. Re-verified quarterly. How we compare QR platforms explains the method.

Why people look for a QR TIGER alternative

QR TIGER is a Singapore company founded in 2018 with a large self-serve base. The searches that bring people here come from four places.

  • Free codes that stop. The free plan gives three dynamic codes with 500 scans each in total. QR TIGER's help centre says the code becomes inactive when the limit is reached and the fix is to upgrade. The allowance does not renew. A free code on a poster works until its five-hundredth scan and then shows nothing. Free codes also show a QR TIGER logo popup on every scan.
  • Yearly billing above the entry plan. Regular can be paid monthly at $7. Advanced ($16), Premium ($37) and Professional ($89) are billed yearly only, per QR TIGER's FAQ and help centre. A team that needs bulk creation or a custom domain for one season pays for a year.
  • Codes depend on an active plan. When a paid plan expires, dynamic codes stop working. QR TIGER states it keeps the data for up to a year so a late renewal restores them, which is a fair grace period, but the codes are dark for the gap.
  • Twelve codes at the entry price. Regular's 12 dynamic codes are the smallest entry allowance on this list after Scanova's Basic and Hovercode's free tier, and the next step is 200 codes at more than double the price.

What QR TIGER does well

Unlimited scans on every paid plan. Regular at $65 a year includes API access and a Canva integration, which nobody else offers at that price. ISO 27001:2022 certification, with the certificate on the public register and stated on its pricing page, plus GDPR and CCPA statements. Twenty-five code types including GS1 Digital Link. Analytics with total and unique scans, scans over time, a GPS heatmap and CSV export. Bulk creation of up to 3,000 codes a batch from Advanced. Sena, a conversational AI that answers questions about your scan data, on Professional and Enterprise. Password protection, scan notifications and scheduled expiry from Advanced; geofencing and multi-URL routing from Premium. Refunds decided case by case, with unused term refunded pro rata under its terms.

The criteria

  1. Free dynamic codes, and whether their allowance renews.
  2. Billing: monthly available on which plans.
  3. Custom domain: on which plan and at what price.
  4. Price and code count at the entry paid plan.
  5. What happens to printed codes when a plan lapses.
  6. Analytics depth and export.
  7. Compliance stated publicly, and where data is hosted.
  8. AI beyond design assistance.

The six alternatives

1. QRCodeKIT: best overall alternative

QRCodeKIT invented the dynamic QR code in 2009 and has run them since. Two dynamic codes are free for life with 100 scans per code per month, and the allowance renews every month rather than running out: a free code on a poster works this year and in five years. Starter is $20 a month billed yearly for 100 codes with bulk creation from CSV. Pro is $50 billed yearly, or $65 monthly, for 1,000 codes, unlimited scans, ten seats and a custom domain included. Enterprise is $150 for 5,000 codes, 50 seats, several domains, SSO and the API. Full detail on the pricing page.

What it shares with QR TIGER: ISO 27001 certification and GDPR compliance, unique and total scans by city, country, device and time, GS1 Digital Link codes, bulk creation, password protection and scheduled expiry, Google Analytics and UTM support, a Canva integration, and codes that come back when a lapsed plan is renewed, with the account and data kept meanwhile. QRCodeKIT's exports are PDF and XLS per code and per project.

What QR TIGER does not have: Cleo, an AI agent trained on your own content that answers anyone who scans in more than 40 languages; invisible QR codes that fade into artwork and still scan; Google Reviews codes where the customer taps a star, answers three questions and AI drafts the review; an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf on every plan including free; automations to Zapier, Make, n8n and Canva with webhooks on scan, form and payment events; ISO 9001 and 14001 alongside 27001; monthly billing on the mid-tier; and EU hosting on AWS EU regions. QRCodeKIT is operated by a US-incorporated company, Mobile Leaves Corp., with transfer terms in its privacy policy.

Weak points against QR TIGER: the entry plan costs more ($20 against $7 monthly or $65 a year), the API is reserved for Enterprise, bulk batches are smaller, and there are 22 code types against 25.

2. Uniqode: best for compliance depth

No free dynamic codes; static only, and dynamic codes made in the 14-day trial go inactive unless a paid plan follows. Essential is $9 a month, billed yearly only, for 15 codes and 60 days of analytics. Core is $49 for 250 codes, GPS and the API. Plus is $99 for 500 codes and three seats, with a custom domain and SSO as $500-a-year add-ons per its plan table; its pricing FAQ still shows an older $2,000 domain figure. Business+ is $399 for 2,000 codes, lifetime analytics, domain and SSO included. Annual billing only on every plan. The Uniqode alternatives piece covers it in depth.

What it shares with QR TIGER: ISO 27001:2022, GDPR, annual-only billing above the entry level (Uniqode on every level), GS1 codes, GPS analytics, codes that stop when a plan lapses and return on renewal. Uniqode adds SOC 2 Type 2 and HIPAA, Smart Rules routing, Una, an AI assistant in the dashboard, and an MCP connector for Claude. Its terms reserve the right to delete account data within 30 days of cancellation. Hosted on AWS in the United States. New York company.

3. Bitly: best for link-first teams

Free gives two codes and five links a month with unlimited scans, but the destination cannot be changed, there are no analytics, and free links and codes pass through an ad page. Core is $10 a month, annual only, for five codes a month and five destination changes. Growth is $29 yearly or $35 monthly for ten codes a month, 20 changes, 120 days of data and a complimentary custom domain that Bitly owns and will not transfer. Premium is $199 or $300 monthly for 200 codes a month and 110 changes. The Bitly alternatives piece covers it in depth.

What it shares with QR TIGER: unlimited scans, a Canva integration, GDPR and CCPA statements, monthly billing on some plans. Bitly adds SOC 2 Type 2, an MCP server on every plan including free that manages QR codes, Bitly Assist on paid plans, 64 integrations and data export from Growth. Where it differs most: one URL per code with no native types, and codes and destination changes as monthly quotas rather than a stock. After a downgrade, codes keep scanning with frozen destinations. US data centres. New York company.

4. Flowcode: best for design-led brands

Free gives two codes with analytics for the first 500 scans, ad free. Unlike QR TIGER's cap, Flowcode's applies to the analytics, not the code: the code keeps scanning after 500, the dashboard just stops counting. Pro Plus is $25 a month billed yearly, or $60 monthly, for 50 codes, analytics for 6,000 scans, three seats and CSV bulk upload. Growth is listed at $250, annual only, for 150 codes, geolocation, CRM integrations, the API and five custom domains. Enterprise adds SSO and SmartFlow.

What it shares with QR TIGER: GS1 Digital Link, unlimited scans, bulk creation, smart routing by day, device and location, GDPR and CCPA. Flowcode adds SOC 2 Type 2 and stated HIPAA compliance, payment and file destinations, an AI design generator, and paid codes that keep scanning after cancellation with only the two most recent still editable. In February 2024 it introduced analytics caps that applied to existing accounts. Hosting location not published. Payments non-refundable under its terms. New York company.

5. Scanova: best at very small volume

No free dynamic codes: a 14-day trial with no card, then codes stop. Basic is $5 a month, annual only, for three codes with unlimited scans. Lite is $9 yearly or $15 monthly for ten codes with Google Analytics, webhooks, password protection and scheduled expiry. Standard is $35 or $50 monthly for 50 codes with Zapier, ad pixels and white-labelled pages. Pro is $75 or $100 monthly for 500 codes, five users, GPS and one custom domain. API and SSO on Enterprise. Ultra Lite is one code for life for $150.

What it shares with QR TIGER: ISO 27001:2022, GDPR, unlimited scans, unique scans with CSV export, GS1 among 26 code categories, scheduled expiry, and codes that stop when a plan ends and return on renewal, kept 26 months against QR TIGER's one year. Scanova adds SOC 2 Type 2, AI-generated designs on every plan, AI Studio landing pages, an open-source MCP server, and monthly billing from Lite. Hosted on AWS in Oregon, United States. Operated from India.

6. Hovercode: best free tier

Three dynamic codes free for life with unlimited scans, no ads, editable destinations, a form builder and GS1 Digital Link codes. Pro is $12 a month for 100 codes and one custom domain. Business is $39 for 600 codes a month, ten domains, the API, bulk creation and ten users. Business Plus is $99 for 2,000 codes a month, 50 domains, 25 users and webhooks. Monthly or yearly billing on every plan.

Against QR TIGER's free tier this is the direct upgrade: three codes with no scan cap and no popup. Where it falls short: hosted in Germany with GDPR stated but no certification of its own, about nine code types against 25, an experimental AI design generator only, no MCP connector, and a UK company incorporated in 2023. When a plan lapses, the first three codes stay live, the rest are paused and restored on resubscribing, and codes on a custom domain stop.

If QR TIGER's compliance is why you chose it

QR TIGER holds ISO 27001:2022 and states GDPR and CCPA. Uniqode and Scanova hold the same ISO certification and add SOC 2 Type 2; Uniqode and Flowcode also state HIPAA; Bitly states SOC 2 Type 2; QRCodeKIT holds ISO 9001, 27001 and 14001. On hosting, QR TIGER says AWS in several countries without naming one. Uniqode, Bitly and Scanova state the United States, QRCodeKIT states AWS EU regions, Hovercode Germany, Flowcode nothing. For a buyer with a residency requirement, that is the first line to get in writing.

What happens to your printed codes

  • QR TIGER: free codes stop for good at 500 scans. Paid codes stop when the plan expires; data is kept for up to a year so a late renewal restores them.
  • QRCodeKIT: the two free codes keep working indefinitely, with the allowance renewing monthly. Codes on a lapsed paid plan are deactivated and return on renewal; the account and data stay.
  • Uniqode: codes go inactive and are restored on renewal with their original short URLs; terms allow deletion within 30 days of cancellation.
  • Bitly: codes keep scanning with frozen destinations; free scans pass an ad page.
  • Flowcode: codes keep scanning after cancellation; only the two most recent stay editable.
  • Scanova: codes stop; kept 26 months and restored on subscription.
  • Hovercode: the first three codes stay live; others pause and return on resubscribing.

Only two platforms let a free code printed today still work in five years: QRCodeKIT with a renewing monthly allowance, and Hovercode with unlimited scans. Everyone else's free tier ends, by cap, by trial or by design.

How to move without reprinting

A QR TIGER code printed on its default domain resolves through QR TIGER only; if you leave, it dies unless you reprint. A code printed on a custom domain you own, connected on Premium or above, can be pointed at any platform by changing the DNS record. The same rule applies at every vendor here, with one exception to watch: Bitly's complimentary domain is registered to Bitly and cannot be transferred. Export your scan data as CSV before your plan ends; QR TIGER keeps it for a year, but the export is yours forever.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best QR TIGER alternative?

For most teams, QRCodeKIT: two dynamic codes free for life with an allowance that renews every month, monthly billing on Pro, a custom domain included at $50, EU hosting, and three things no other platform here offers: Cleo, an AI agent that answers at the scan, invisible QR codes, and Google Reviews codes with AI-drafted reviews. Hovercode for the most generous free tier, Uniqode for compliance depth, Bitly for links, Flowcode for design, Scanova for very small volumes.

Is there a free alternative whose codes don't stop at 500 scans?

Yes. QRCodeKIT's two free codes get 100 scans each every month, renewing indefinitely. Hovercode's three free codes have unlimited scans. Flowcode's two free codes keep scanning after 500; only the analytics stop. Bitly's free codes have unlimited scans but a fixed destination and an ad page.

Which alternative offers monthly billing above the entry plan?

QRCodeKIT on Pro ($65 monthly) and Enterprise, Bitly on Growth and Premium, Flowcode on Pro Plus, Scanova from Lite, and Hovercode on every plan. Uniqode is annual only. QR TIGER offers monthly billing on Regular only.

Does any alternative match QR TIGER's ISO 27001?

Yes. Uniqode and Scanova hold ISO 27001:2022 and add SOC 2 Type 2. QRCodeKIT holds ISO 27001 with ISO 9001 and 14001. Bitly and Flowcode state SOC 2 Type 2 instead.

Does any alternative have AI beyond QR TIGER's Sena analytics chat?

Several. QRCodeKIT has Cleo, an AI agent at the scan destination, plus an MCP connector on every plan. Uniqode has Una and an MCP connector for Claude. Bitly and Scanova publish MCP servers. Flowcode, Scanova and Hovercode have AI design generators. Only QRCodeKIT's AI talks to the person who scanned.

Can I move my QR TIGER codes?

Codes on QR TIGER's default domain cannot be moved. Codes on a custom domain you own, connected on Premium or above, can be repointed to any platform through DNS. Export your scan data before your plan ends.
